How to deal with an insensitive spouse

Here's how you deal with them

Physical intimacy is not everything in a relationship, especially a marriage. A marriage needs both partners to be emotionally present for each other and cater to the needs of the other. Behave like one single unit. However, many partners find themselves neglected emotionally by one insensitive partner either wife or husband. They ignore your tears, your grievances (unless that is all you do) and you feel there is a major disconnect between your partner and you. If you are one on the receiving end too then here are 4 tips that will help you deal with an insensitive spouse.

2/5

Show love and respect anyway

If he/she is insensitive to you, it does not mean that you should do the same. Act the opposite. And by this we are not saying that you must accept their rudeness. Instead, Show your partner that you are there for them and that they can share their feelings with you in a calm way. This theory is helpful especially when your spouse is trying to hide their true feelings by yelling.

3/5

Take control

Some people have a habit of ignoring their spouse. They hear them only when they need something or are in the mood to talk. In this case, you need to take control and let your spouse know that you are very much there and cannot be ignored. Share your feelings, open up and show your partner that you cannot be ignored or taken for granted.

4/5

Patience

Patience is the key to almost everything in life, it is all about the degree. You will need a lot of patience to help your spouse get the picture of why it is important for them to be sensitive and caring. Open conversations are crucial in this matter. Just keep calm.

5/5

Don’t just reject your partner

If your spouse is insensitive and says things that should not, show them that if they become sensitive and mellow down, their behaviour will be welcomed and not rejected. Many see this as a sign of weakness and showing emotions is something not many people are good at. Whenever they open themselves to you, welcome that and never use that against them amid a fight.
