Look out for these signs

Abuse in a relationship can come in many different forms. The verbal form of abuse can leave a person mentally and emotionally broken, devoid of any confidence. Nobody should have to suffer abuse in a relationship where they expect love, care and affection. Verbal abuse is rarely identified in relationships and so, it becomes all the more important to look out for signs that point towards verbal abuse in a relationship. Here are the signs.

2/5

Name-calling

If your partner unnecessarily calls you out with disrespectful names, then this is a sign of verbal abuse. Additionally, if your partner does this on a regular basis, then it’s a major red sign that indicates you either need to have a talk with your partner or leave them.

3/5

Manipulation

This is a very negative sign of verbal abuse. Your partner shouldn’t manipulate you according to their whims. If they don’t have the ability to communicate in a healthy manner and they resort to manipulation techniques, then you need to be beware.

4/5

Threats

This is recognisably a huge sign of verbal abuse. When threats come into the picture, it can be dangerous for you to be in such a relationship. Your partner shouldn’t resort to threats if they love you.

5/5

Blames and accusations

Why should you be the one who is blamed for everything? Blaming and accusations point towards an unhealthy relationship and partner. Your partner shouldn’t blame you for their mistakes and not own up to their faults. This is clearly a big sign of verbal abuse.
