5 women share the moment they met their soulmate

There are the magical moments when you look someone in the eye and instantly see your life ahead with them. Such moments of spark make you believe in soul mates and especially if you have a partner whom you believe to love and cherish forever. When you realise that you’ve found ‘the one,’ it can be a moment of euphoria to be remembered forever. So, we bring to you 5 women who share the moment they met their soulmate.

Being there for you in times of grief

“Rajat had once, gone on a trip with his friends and we had been best friends at that time. There was always a certain attraction I felt towards him but dared to never say anything, in the fear that it might break off our friendship. But my beloved grandmother had died suddenly then, and Rajat came rushing back all the way from Bali to Pune the moment I told him. I cried on his shoulder the moment I met him at the airport. I looked up with my tear-strained eyes and saw the same affection I had for him, in his eyes too.”

Smita, 29 years old

Flaws to love and cherish

“My partner and I had been in a relationship but somehow, I had never been really certain of us ending up together. But this once, I remember my partner eating his bread and butter in the most grotesque way and then offering me a bite from it as well. Then and there I realised I hated him for eating it in such a ridiculous way but again, wanted him to share it with only me, for all our lives.”

Kamiksha, 27 years old

Drunk and dizzy, but eyes went sparkly

“I had gone to this club once, where I had three shots of vodka but unfortunately had onion rings just a while before (you can only imagine the horror!) It didn’t sit quite well with me and I ended up puking on a guy’s clean, squeaky shoes. I had been so drunk, that I stared at the time and actually smiled not caring what he might even think! He smiled back, asking my friends to take me to the washroom and slipped a tissue into my hand. Next morning I woke up groaning and crying about the horror I had done, but found the slip and it said, ‘It’s okay, happens’, with a smiley face. I gathered the courage and went sober to the same club to find him and thank him. Four years later, we are to be married next month!”

Riya, 31 years old

Unexpected coffee dates

“I once went to buy some cakes at a bakery and saw that a guy was sitting quietly with a coffee and half-eaten blueberry cheesecake (my favourite!). I immediately figured that he had been stood up, by his solemn expression. I had some time to spare, so I sat down in hopes of at least cheering up a stranger, because why not? Turns out, I never left that table and we still meet there every Friday as part of our customary relationship date!”

Amrita, 29 years old

Classic romantic kinds

“I had always been the romantic kind and once, this guy had asked me out on a date and after quite a 100 dates, he decided to propose to me with a letter and rose in hand, that he read aloud in tears. I then knew that marrying him was going to be one of my best decisions ever.”

Tanisha, 30 years old
