Lessons from Bigg Boss

Popular Indian reality TV show, Bigg Boss is famed for both good and bad. While it is an excellent pastime for many, others have alleged that the language, plot and drama shown in Bigg Boss is not appropriate for audiences. Bigg Boss hosts a number of contestants who stay together in a home for approx 3 months, performing tasks, fighting, making new connections and the likes. In fact, Bigg Boss house has become the reason why many TV celebrities have become a viewer-loved couple today.
While many have covered and reported about how Bigg Boss has to an extent spoiled the youth, here we present 5 life-lessons that have been evident in every Bigg Boss season till date.

Everybody should know how to do basic chores

Living together, the Bigg Boss house requires everybody to be on cooking duties. Peeling, cooking, cleaning, whatever it is, you are expected to do it. Irrespective of what your gender is, you have to perform all of your basic responsibilities. Making your bed, cleaning the house, washing the clothes etc.
Inside the Bigg Boss house, nobody is less important than the other.

First impression SHOULD NOT be the last impression

As the show starts, we as the audience start judging the contestants. We like some, love some and hate someone else. We like a couple because they look cute together and hate another because they are too loud or just outright cringe. But, as the show progresses we see different sides of those people. The guy we admired for his looks turns out to be too loud, the tall and cute one is outright rude and the couple we liked are now so toxic towards each other.
So as the show goes on, our impressions also change. It is thus important to not judge too soon.

You need to have street smarts

In formal language, you need to have social intelligence. Bigg Boss contestants are housed together for months with people from different walks of life that they probably did not know much about before. Thus, to navigate your life and success between unknown people who might try to pull you down through the competition it is necessary to be socially intelligent.
One needs to be aware of their surroundings, the people around them, the tactics and moves people resort to, etc. Thus, to win in a game and life, street smarts are important.

Change is the only constant

The contestants have to leave behind a luxurious life and stay in a shared space for a loong time. This shows that its important to remain open to life's changes and not stay confined within our comfort zones indefinitely. Celebrities and famous individuals find themselves doing tasks and facing situations they may have never imagined. It shows how we need to embrace changes in our life and learn to adjust to new experiences.

Be emotionally strong and resilient

You see a lot of emotional people in the Bigg Boss house. They cry easily, have outbursts, throw temper tantrums and even throw stuff when they are angry. This is exactly how you should not be. Just like in the show these contestants are eliminated earlier than the others, similarly, in life, people who do not know how to take hold of their emotions, lose to others.
It is not that being weak is a bad thing but showing your vulnerability to everyone is!
