Rob Reiner's family: How many members is the Hollywood director survived by?

For the past week, Hollywood has been mourning the loss of one of the best people that it has been impacted by, director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner. On December 15, the couple's daughter discovered them in their Brentwood home. As per TMZ, the two suffered lacerations consistent with a knife.

According to a New York Times report, the couple's 27-year-old daughter Romy had arrived at her parents' house in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon after receiving a call from a massage therapist who was unable to access the property. The report added that Romy discovered her father's body when she arrived and apparently 'fled' the home. She was later informed by a paramedic that her mother had been killed too.




Now, their son, Nick Reiner is facing two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance alleging multiple murders, said Nathan Hochman, district attorney to BBC.

Apart from the two children, Rob Reiner and his wife are survived by other family members as well. Here's who they are.

Rob Reiner's family

Rob Reiner, is a Hollywood director remembered by his works such as 'When Harry Met Sally,' 'The Princess Bride,' 'A Few Good Men' and more. On March 6, 1947, Reiner was born in New York City, US. His parents were actors Estelle and Carl Reiner.

While his mother died of natural causes in 2008, his father died of the same cause in 2020.

Rob Reiner's siblings

Emmy-winning actor and director Carl Reiner and his wife Estelle Reiner had a Hollywood love marriage that lasted 65 years. Born and raised in New York, the couple married in 1943 and welcomed three children, eldest son Rob, daughter Annie and younger son Lucas.

While Rob went on to become a famous Hollywood director, actor and producer, Annie became an author and mental health professional, as per her LinkedIn. Lucas, grew up to become a visual artist.

Rob Reiner is survived by both his siblings, Annie and Lucas Reiner. Lucas is married to his wife Maud Winchester who is also a part of the family.

First wife and daughter

Reiner married actress and director Penny Marshall in 1971. He adopted Marshall's daughter Tracy Reiner as his own. The couple was married for ten years and divorced in 1981. Marshall died in 2018, at 75, due to complications of diabetes and heart disease. Tracy Reiner, 61, is a Hollywood actress and is married to Matthew Theodore Conlan, and they have five children, according to IMDb.

Second wife and three children

While directing the Hollywood classic 'When Harry Met Sally' Reiner was introduced to photographer Michele Singer. The meeting not only inspired him to change the movie's ending but also led to their marriage in 1989. The couple had three children together, sons Jake and Nick and daughter Romy.

Jake Reiner, 34, was born in May 1991 and is an actor and writer, famous for 'Things Like This'.

Nick Reiner, 32, was born in September 1993 and is a screenwriter.

Romy Reiner, 27, born in December 1997 is an actress and writer famous for 'Voices' and 'Born Again Virgin'.

"Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day," Jake and Romy Reiner said in a statement released by a family spokesperson on Wednesday. "The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends."

Now, Nick Reiner is appearing in court for the charges and the reality of the case is yet to unfold.
