Story of the peacock feather

As per the holy texts, Lord Krishna was seen playing his flute in the forest of Vrindavan. As he was playing his flute, peacocks gathered around him. They were amazed to hear the melodious sound of the flute of Lord Krishna. This gave them utmost joy, and they decided to drop a peacock feather as a sign of love.



The innocent act of this peacock touched Lord Krishna’s heart so much that he maintained this peacock’s feather in his crown as an expression of his gratitude for love and devotion instead of affluence.


Lord Krishna could have worn any jewel that would suit him. He could have worn anything that would enhance his beauty and majesty. He could have worn anything that would suit his majestic looks and charisma. He could also have worn anything that would impress his devotees and fans. He could wear anything.

The vibrant mixture of hues represents diversity in creation, which co-exists in a well-organized manner under the supervision of Krishna.
