Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s top 5 parenting tips

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are one of the most loved Bollywood couples. They made headlines after they shared videos and pictures of their baby girl, Raha. Both Alia and Ranbir have been open about their parenting journey and how they’ve been balancing it with their careers. Here are five parenting lessons we can pick up from them:

2/6

Shared responsibilities

Alia and Ranbir consciously split their parenting roles to ensure that one parent is always available for their daughter, Raha. Both of them have revealed how they prioritise their daughter over everything and how one of them is always by her side. Alia explained in an interview that when one of them is travelling, the other stays home. They also rely on the support of grandparents when their schedules clash. This balance between work and parenting is not accidental it’s something they purposefully design to take care of their child.

3/6

Make bedtime sacred with a reading ritual

One of the most special daily rituals they have with their daughter is reading to her. Alia Bhatt has mentioned that every night, it is either she or Ranbir who reads to Raha. By telling stories, they are cultivating her imagination and creating a soothing bedtime routine that fosters bonding.

4/6

Divide your roles

According to Alia, she assumes the role of “management” organising, planning, and making sure things get done while Ranbir brings in all the playfulness and fun. Jokingly, she says he does all the “fun things” with Raha, like playing and being silly. This division doesn’t just help them function as parents; it gives Raha a balanced relationship with both mom and dad structure from one and joy and spontaneity from the other.

5/6

Create and build magical worlds

Alia shares stories about their family for Raha, casting Ranbir along with her sister Shaheen Bhatt as characters in the wildest of tales and making up “random, magical things’’ for her daughter’s entertainment. It ties into a broader parenting philosophy, injecting magic and curiosity into a child’s world.

6/6

Accept parenting as a lifelong, imperfect process

Alia Bhatt has been candid about the anxiety that comes with motherhood. She often talks about how parenthood brings constant concern and a heightened sense of responsibility. According to her, parenting is not about being perfect; it’s a lifelong commitment. She emphasises that love should be at the centre of everything and that a child can never receive too much of it. Her approach is about giving your best each day while knowing that no parent will ever have all the answers and that’s perfectly okay.
