Physical activity helps in the overall development of a child

Mobile phones, and computer screens seem to have locked our kids these days. Playtime and other sorts of physical activities have taken a backseat these days. With no activity at all, the overall development of the kids is declining. If we talk about height, though genetics has a major role to play in this, there are several activities that are claimed to have an effect on growth. Encourage your child to do these exercises on a daily basis. Physical activities like exercises boost the mental well-being of kids along with strengthening their bones and muscles. Here are 6 simple exercises for kids:

2/7

Stretching Exercises

Stretching helps improve flexibility and maintain good posture and can contribute to an increase in height. Kids might dislike doing stretches, as it is difficult and especially more difficult for those who do it for the first time. You can ease them into doing these exercises by starting with simple ones like Toe-touch stretches, Cobra stretches, Cat-Cow stretches, and Hamstring stretches.

3/7

Swimming

Swimming involves a wide range of movements that engage various muscle groups. It also helps improve posture, coordination, and lung capacity, which can aid in overall growth.

4/7

Jumping Activities

Kids love jumping from here to there so why not use this skill as a means to increase the height? It is believed that activities that involve jumping can help stimulate bone growth and increase muscle strength. Some common jumping activities are jumping jacks, skipping, and jumping rope.

5/7

Yoga

A physical activity that also enhances mental peace, Yoga is certainly recommended for all kids. Yoga promotes flexibility, balance, and core strength. Teach your kid common yoga poses like Tree Pose, Cobra Pose, and Triangle Pose. These can help stretch the spine and improve posture.

6/7

Cycling

Cycling is a low-impact cardiovascular exercise that helps strengthen leg muscles and promotes bone health. Cycling is environmentally friendly too and hence is a good skill for kids to learn. You can also cycle around with your kid and give them company.

7/7

Hanging Exercises

If you have a big tree nearby, take your kid there and ask them to do some exercises by hanging on tree branches. Activities that involve hanging from a bar, like monkey bars or pull-up bars, can help decompress the spine and promote a healthy posture.
