Prernaa Singh believes being overweight gives light to a vicious cycle, wherein one loses their confidence, stops going out and indulges in stress eating, which again leads to more weight gain. That’s when breaking the cycle and taking “action” becomes crucial, according to her. With the right diet, regular exercise and having joined Fittr community, Prernaa eventually achieved her desired fitness outcome and continues to tread on the same path. Here’s a glimpse of her journey:
Name: Prernaa Singh

Duration it took to lose weight: 1.5 years

I did strength training 5-6 days a week.
Fitness secret I unveiled: It is crucial to build habits when it comes to your health and stay consistent with them. Over time, progress will follow.
How do I stay motivated: We all have 24 hours, out of which dedicating 1 hour for becoming better is worth it.
How do you ensure that you don’t lose focus: Determination helps in reaching goals always! I don’t rely on motivation. Motivation is a result of actions that we take.

It’s a vicious cycle - you lose confidence, stop going out, do stress eating and you gain more weight. You stop liking yourself and it gets depressing, while other disorders follow. Breaking the cycle and taking that ACTION is the most difficult part according to me.
What was the lowest point for you?: I was becoming lazy, losing confidence, not fitting into my clothes.
What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?: A more toned body with more muscles. Fitness is a continuous journey; I am currently working on building strength and next, I would work on building muscles.

I eat the same foods at the same time each day mostly. I don’t restrict myself.
Lessons learnt from weight loss: It’s not 50% nutrition and 50% exercise. It’s 100% nutrition and 100% exercise.
