This man lost 44 kgs in 11 months, here’s how…

Being overweight made it extremely difficult for Farhan Momin to go about his life. When his weight reached a staggering 142 kilos, not only did he develop many health issues, but he also experienced body shaming and could not find clothes fit for him. But once he decided to live a healthier and fitter lifestyle, there was no looking back. He’s lost 44 kgs since and believes consistency is what has helped him achieve it.

The turning point

Being overweight not only gave rise to a lot of health issues, but it also led to experiences with body shaming.

(Body shaming refers to the action of subjecting someone to humiliation and criticism because of how they look and their body features.)

Diet followed

My breakfast: 2 whole eggs and 3 egg whites with butter with a glass of black coffee

My lunch: 170gms chicken and 60gms uncooked rice with green salad

My dinner: 170gms chicken with green salad

Pre-workout meal: 2 mashed potato with black coffee

Post- workout meal: 2 bananas with warm water

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): Diet is the same on everyday

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: 150gms of chicken with green salad

Workout regime

Monday: Chest & Triceps

Tuesday: Back, Biceps & Cardio

Wednesday: Shoulder, Legs & Jogging

Thursday: Chest & Triceps

Friday: Back, Biceps & Cardio

Saturday: Legs and HIIT

I also play cricket every Monday and Thursday for 2 hours and go swimming everyday for 1 hour.

How do I stay motivated?

I thrive each day to stay fit and healthy. In addition, I stay consistent in achieving my goal.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

Besides experiencing several health issues, I had a lot of difficulty in finding clothes easily. I literally had to get them stitched.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?: I wish to atleast have 6 pack abs.

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

I stopped giving in to late night cravings and avoided unhealthy eating habits. Simultaneously, I make sure I eat healthy and be calculative about it.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: You can eat everything in your day to day life. However, you need to exercise and burn some calories to stay fit.
