We often ignore the common mistakes and wonder why weight loss plan is not working

Losing weight is a tough job, and this gets tougher when we try hard but are not successful.

We all are aware of the negative effects of weight gain. From cardiovascular risks to fatty liver conditions, being overweight is the cause of almost every health complication.

Health experts urge people to stay within the recommended limits of weight and engage in physical activity and take care of their diet when the weight limit is crossed.

There are several weight loss methods available, but many people are unable to achieve weight loss.

In this article we will discuss a few weight loss mistakes you might be making and recommend you to correct them. A small note: Before starting any weight loss plan, please contact your doctor.

2/7

Having snacks with tea

Tea is an important part of our lives. Many of us can not imagine starting a day without tea.

Serving tea with snacks is common in several households.

However, scientifically this has a negative effect on the body. Tea has tannins and caffeine which when combined with food can impact the iron absorption. It can also cause acidity and bloating.

3/7

Having milk with bananas

Another customary combination is consuming milk together with bananas.

Though both of these are highly nutritious, consuming them together leads to weight gain. If you want to consume them together then have them 20-30 minutes apart.

4/7

Having dessert immediately after meal

We can't even think of leaving the dinner table without having a scoop of our favorite dessert.

This creates an unnecessary burden on the guts. While your tummy is already full with the meal loading it with a dessert will overstress it.

If you really want to have dessert, have it a few minutes later.

5/7

Having roti and rice together

Both roti and rice have high glycemic index or GI index.

Having both of them together in the meal will increase your starch intake. This can lead to indigestion, bloating and might disturb your metabolism.

6/7

Having too much protein in a single meal

Most of us understand that weight loss is possible only when you have lots of protein. But the fact is one should have only that much protein that the body can digest properly.

Having lots of proteins at a single sitting will put extra burden on the stomach to digest it. Hence spread out your protein intake throughout the day on several meals.

7/7

How should I eat for weight loss?

For weight loss, one should always have a balanced diet comprising carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Do not discard carbs from your diet; these are energy giving foods.

Do not discard fats from your diet completely but limit its usage.

Protein should be taken in moderation as it is difficult to digest these foods.

If you have any health complications it is advisable to consult a doctor before starting a weight loss routine.

These 10 rules can help you lose weight (6 of these do not require you to go to a gym)
