Why Korean women stay fit and healthy

While we sweep through Korean movies, music videos, tv shows, we spot people who are extremely fit, lean, and healthy. Even when you walk through the streets of Korea, you'll hardly find unfit people. Be it a young teen, a middle-aged man/woman or a 60-70 year old grandpa/grandma, everyone seems to be in great shape. Korean women especially have a spectacularly fit personality that has left everyone around the world curious and wondering!

That said, here's a guide to what Korean women eat, do and avoid in order to NEVER gain weight.

2/7

They follow a well-balanced diet

Unlike many of the diet plans that either demand cutting back on a particular food item, the Korean diet is all about the balance. There is nothing that Korean women don't eat. From protein to carbs to fat, a healthy Korean diet consists of all, but in a well-balanced form. Besides, Koreans are also very particular about portion sizes. They avoid overeating and also incorporate physical activity in their day-to-day routine.

3/7

Vegetables are staples

If ever you get to enjoy a traditional Korean cuisine, you'll first notice a wide range of veggies on the table. Korean people love their vegetables, which is one of the key reasons behind their slim, healthy body. Given that most vegetables are fibrous, wholesome and low in calories, it helps tremendously in weight loss. The fibre in the veggies helps in feeling satiated, keeping other high caloric foods at bay.

4/7

There is no meal without fermented foods (Kimchi is basic)

As far as Korean women are concerned, all their meals are accompanied by a side dish, which is usually a series of fermented foods. Such foods are great for the gut and improve digestive health. That said, not only does it help boost the immune system, but also aids in weight loss.

5/7

Homemade food is preferred over fast food

One of the key reasons behind a Korean woman's fit body is the food choices she makes. There is nothing better than homemade foods when you're looking to shed some kilos. Eating processed, unhealthy foods, fast foods especially can not only add to your weight, but can also increase your risk of developing chronic illnesses. When it comes to Korean women, they're most likely to dine at home, rather than outdoors. Well-aware of the foods good for their body, they make healthy food choices accordingly.

6/7

They feast on seafood

Seafoods are one of the staple foods in Korea. Other than the fatty fishes, which are great for your health, seaweed is a common Korean food item that they incorporate in everything from a regular dish to a soup. Rich in vitamins and minerals, seaweed also has a lot of fiber, which is great for digestion and keeps you feeling fuller for a longer period of time.

7/7

They walk everywhere, focusing on leading an active lifestyle

Most Koreans love walking. They prefer using their feet, rather than public transportation to reach their destination. Leading an active lifestyle is what keeps most Korean women healthy and keeps their weight in check. As we all know, physical activity is extremely crucial, especially when it comes to our body weight and also our overall health.
