All you need to know

On several occasions, popular fashion designer Masaba Gupta has opened up about her struggles with Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD). She has discussed the challenges that came along with the condition and how it made it all the more difficult for her to lose weight.

Following her stunning transformation, through her Instagram page, Masaba unveils the kind of changes and healthy habits she brought into her lifestyle. In one of her Instagram posts last year, she refers to her body transformation, and writes, "I am as committed to my health as I am to my business & my relationships. Say this to yourself every single day."

Recently, she again took to Instagram and indulged in a Q&A session, where her fans and followers asked her some raging questions about her diet and fitness journey. Here's everything she revealed about what she eats regularly and her workout routine.

The diet routine she swears by

Discussing her meals, Masaba reveals that she indulges in intermittent fasting and eats two large meals a day i.e. lunch and dinner. She also says that snacks on nuts in between. Additionally, the designer also mentioned that she relishes "ghar ka khana" (home cooked meals), which consist of rice, jowar or buckwheat roti, sabzi, a small sweet dish.

Furthermore, Masaba says that she steers clear of dairy, refined sugar and fried foods, since these are foods that give light to PCOD. She also advises her fans to avoid alcohol and suggests the juice that she drinks regularly. Sharing the recipe, she says, “Take some ash gourd, juice it and add some Himalayan salt to it. It is really good to cool your body."

On being asked whether one can lose weight with a healthy diet, she replies saying, "You gotta eat right at least 80 percent of the time. (Maybe Monday to Friday)."

No to fad diets

Masaba Gupta has never been a fan of fad diets. Fad diets are weight loss plans that promise jaw-dropping results in a short span of time, but can affect your health drastically.

Last year in June, talking to her Instagram story, she says, "I don't believe in fad diets (tried & tested) cutting out any food, even a 100% - even dairy which gives me acne instantly. I have dahi once in a while as well. But I probably won't have a glass of milk ever."

"A diet shouldn't be one you can hold only for a short period of time - it should be one you can sustain for life + no workout can fix a bad diet & no activity won't help a great diet," she adds.

All about her workout regime

While following the right diet is essential to leading a healthy lifestyle, working out regularly is also important.

In the Q&A session, Masaba reveals that she tries to exercise at least 6 days a week, which can stretch from 45-60 minutes. She has taken to social media and on many instances has said that yoga and Pilates are her go to exercises, especially when it comes to weight loss. The designer also focuses on her breathing since she also has asthma reportedly.
