Yoga is an effective way to lose weight

Weight loss has come to be one of the most sought after things in the recent times. Due to sedentary lifestyles that involve little or no activity, a large portion of one’s time is spent sitting. In addition to this, large amount of time spent working leaves little time or stamina for engaging in elaborate work out routines. In such situations, it becomes extremely difficult to find time or a solution to staying fit. Yoga is one of the best ways to lose weight. With an increasing number of people taking it up, yoga has gained considerable popularity but most people still do not believe in its effectiveness when it comes to weight loss which can be partly blamed on the inconsistency and wrong assumption that yoga poses are difficult to do. For all those of you who are struggling with the same problem of scarcity of time and energy at the end of a day, we have an easy to do yoga pose that can be added to a yoga routine which will help lose weight.

Weight loss

Even though other yoga poses that are much more intense are more helpful for achieving weight loss, it is also important to note that this pose can also contribute effectively to weight loss. Since it is a restorative pose, it can help release stress which can lower the frequency of stress eating and help one stay healthy by not giving into cravings. Cortisol levels are managed by this pose. Even though it is a cool-down pose, it can also be practiced before starting with a yoga session so that the muscles of the legs and feet are relaxed enough to be engaged in an activity session.
