One of the most frustrating things about summer is a sweaty groin. Imagine yourself in the middle of an important date and suddenly, you realize that matters are too damp down there. It won't just make you uncomfortable but conscious too because that dampness isn't just that. It often smells too. So, how can this be dealt with?

​Understand why you sweat

UNDERSTAND WHY YOU SWEAT: Sweating is your body's air conditioning, It sweats to cool itself down. Firstly, know why your vagina (technically, vulva) sweats. As a fact, there are sweat glands on many parts of your body, some of which have more of these glands than the others. For example, your groin, armpits and scalp have more sweat glands because they have more hair follicles.

WHY DOES VAGINA SWEAT SMELL? To know why, you need to understand that there are two types of sweat glands. Most of the body has just eccrine glands, that is those that only produce watery sweat. However, areas like your vagina and armpits also have odor-producing apocrine glands. Know what you can do in order to keep yourself fresher down there.

​Wear light fabrics

WEAR LIGHT FABRICS: The best way to be is if you can wear 100 per cent cotton underwears. Go for breathable materials and avoid panty liners. Or, there are many brands that have a range of sweat absorbing underwears. You can try them out too.

​Trim it up

TRIM IT UP: You don't necessarily have to get yourself waxed down there. All you need to do is keep it groomed and trimmed. Ungroomed pubic hair can trap the moisture and smell and make it harder for your skin to breathe.

​Change immediately after workout

CHANGE IMMEDIATELY AFTER WORKOUT: Once you have worked out, change your clothes immediately to prevent skin problems such as yeast infections and folliculitis.

​Sleep nude

SLEEP NUDE: One way to let your body breathe is by sleeping in nude. Just bid goodbye to your clothes and let your body do the breathing. If you share your room with someone with whom you can't sleep nude, just go commando and remove your underclothes. But wear a loose and breathy nightwear.

VISIT AN EXPERT: If you think you have a serious problem wherein you sweat excessively, you must seek expert guidance, You may suffering from a disorder called hyperhidrosis, a condition in which one sweats excessively.
