Cold and flu are very common problems that happen throughout the year, especially in winters. The sneezing and runny nose make it extremely discomforting to function through the day. And most of us turn to home remedies for relief. There are people in India who believe in sipping on ginger tea, others who make kadhaas using kitchen ingredients, but there is clearly no shortage of home remedies for flu.

The world is very diverse and so is our culture. And every country has its own set of home remedies to get relief from this stubborn disease. Here are some very prominent home remedies for cold and flu from across the globe.

It may sound weird, but people of Hong Kong have lizard soup to get relief from cold and flu. They put some dried lizards, yams and Chinese dates in simmered water. They say it tastes like chicken soup.

China is famous for its unique cuisine and when it comes to treating cold and flu, you cannot expect it to be something normal. The silky covering on young antlers is sort of a magical drug for the people of China. This home remedy is believed to cure everything, right from cold to infertility and anemia.

This famous hot drink of Russia is made by whisking egg yolk and a teaspoon of honey or sugar. The mixture is then poured into a half-cup of milk and heated. This home remedy is also prominent in Ukraine.
