Psoriasis is a non-infectious skin disorder which can appear anywhere on the body. Non-infectious means you cannot get this condition from someone else or pass it on. It may appear as a red or salmon-colored patch with white or silvery scales on the penis. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder, which means when you have this condition, your immune system attacks skin cells on different parts of your body. Lichen sclerosus is a common skin condition. About one in 300 males will develop this condition at some point in their lives, according to Verywell Health.


Lichen sclerosus leads to symptoms like a crinkled, whitish lesion. This develops usually around or under the glans. The cause of development of this condition is unknown. It is thought to be triggered by an overactive immune system. The lesions are usually itchy. They can lead to painful erections as well as painful or difficult urination.
