Shubman Gill suffers toe injury after disc trouble: All you need to know about T20I Vice Captain's health
Gill has been ruled out of the fourth T20 Internationals against South Africa because of this toe issue. Multiple reports confirm that he won’t be playing the remaining matches of the series, which is a pretty big deal considering he’s India’s vice-captain and one of the main batters at the top of the order.
"Yes, he injured his toe while batting. It doesn't look bad right now but further assessment and scans will reveal a clear picture. One also has to be mindful of the weather in the northern part of the country which extends recovery time from niggles. A call on his participation for the Ahmedabad game will be taken soon," as per TOI report.
This isn’t Gill’s only recent injury or struggle, earlier in the season he was sidelined with a neck issue (disc bulge) that kept him out for a while and required rehab before he could even return for this T20I series. He talked about that injury and his recovery just days ago, saying he felt physically and mentally ready to play again after time at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence.

What happens next?
For now, Gill is focusing on recovery. The team’s medical staff and coaches will monitor the toe injury, and he’s expected to rest rather than rush back. With the T20 World Cup approaching early next year, preserving his fitness could be the priority over playing the final matches of this series. Staying fit for the big tournament is surely in everyone’s mind, especially for a player as central as Gill.end of article
