The person suffering from it requires strength, courage and positivity to get through and one such example is Nafisa Ali Sodhi, who has managed to put up a happy, smiling face even after being diagnosed with cancer. Her brave journey sailing through the tough times is something to see and gain positivity from.

The diagnosis

The actress, who is quite active on Instagram, revealed some scary prognosis about her health some days back. Nafisa Ali Sodhi shared that she had been diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer and peritoneal cancer.

While the actress is going through this struggle with support from her family and friends, she is making the most out of her negative diagnosis. She often posts inspiring messages on Instagram, taking fans through her life post diagnosis with a ray of light.

This year in particular has been very tough for Bollywood and Hollywood celebs. Celebrities like Irrfan Khan, Sonali Bendre and Tahira Kashyap and Julia Louis Dreyus have been diagnosed with cancer too and seeking treatment for it.

Nafisa Ali Sodhi, who is 61, recently shared her bald photo, owing to excess hair loss post chemotherapy but her smile is still there. Even though it can be very gruesome and excruciating to go through something like this, Nafisa Ali is a true inspiration and she never stops smiling, battling anything that comes her way without losing hope.

In another candid and emotional post, the actress talked about the time she started losing hair and it made her cry. But, instead of looking at the lost hair, she decided to focus on the brighter aspects. She said, “My hair has started falling out in heaps ... it made me cry ... not for vanity but the reality that I have cancer and that Chemotherapy is working finally sank in . I will shave my hair off tomorrow.”

In an interview, the actress and politician also said that she was not concentrating on the negative side of it and was infact, looking forward to new beginnings and welcoming a grandchild home next year. She was quoted as saying, "My children are the reason for me to overcome the cancer. I have to get better by then in time to welcome my third grandchild."

The actress expressed gratitude for the same and said that she never expected so many people coming forward to care for her. She also pointed out that sharing her troubles on the internet will help raise awareness about the disease and help those in need.
