Here is why you need to rethink your decision to wash your hair at night

Rethink your decision!

Do you prefer to wash your hair at night to avoid getting up early in the morning? For that 15 minutes of extra sleep, you do not mind completing this important task of your daily routine a day in advance.

You might give endless reasons to justify your act of laziness like it saves time, hair looks better in the morning and others. But unfortunately, this habit is doing more harm than good. It is not the timing that matters, but it is more about the post-washing schedule, which can be dangerous for you.

Here are three reasons why you should avoid it at all cost.

2/5

Wet hair

There are high chances that if you wash your hair at night, you might go to sleep with wet hair. Practicing this can not only make you sick, but your hair will also appear more tangled than usual. This happens because the cuticle of hair remains open after the wash. That is why it is also advised to not comb your hair when it's wet as it will lead to hair loss.

3/5

Growth of fungus

Sleeping with wet scalp can even lead to other hair problems like growth of fungus, dandruff, hair loss, and infections. This happens because these problems mostly thrive in moist weather conditions.

4/5

Knotted hair

Your hair doesn't look any better if you wash it in the evening. In fact, doing so can make your hair more knotted and breezy.

5/5

The bottom line

This does not mean that you have to get up early in the morning and give up washing hair at night. You just need to be a little careful and try simple solutions.

First of all, just make sure that your hair is completely dry before you go to sleep. Secondly, apply a little bit of leave-in conditioner to prevent your hair from getting knotted. Use silk pillowcase to prevent hair breakage.
