5 silent symptoms of heart trouble in the 30s

A few decades back, heart disease was something that affected only the elderly, post 60 (even 50 year olds getting heart attacks was unheard of) However, with our sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise, and poor eating habits, heart attack in 40 and even 30s is a scary reality now. Unfortunately, at a young age, the first warning signs of heart problems do not present like traditional chest pain, or breathing difficulties. These silent warning indicators can be hard to identify because they seem ordinary at first, and given their young age, people can easily brush them aside. However, here are 5 warning signs of heart trouble in the 30s that you should not ignore...

2/6

Unusual Fatigue That Doesn’t Go Away

The usual fatigue and exhaustion, after a long day of work is normal. However, prolonged excessive tiredness, that continues beyond weeks even when you get enough rest, might indicate that your heart cannot efficiently pump blood. The heart's improper function reduces oxygen delivery to muscles and organs throughout your body. The condition produces fatigue without any apparent cause, that leaves you feeling weak and exhausted.

People who have had silent heart issues, typically report they needed to expend extra energy on their daily activities than normal people do, before they were diagnosed. Fatigue at this level differs from normal tiredness, so you should not disregard it.

3/6

Strange Indigestion or Heartburn

Heart problems that remain otherwise oblivious, frequently present as mild stomach discomfort, alongside nausea and indigestion. This feeling appears randomly without any apparent cause. This occurs because decreased blood circulation in the heart triggers symptoms which feel like digestive problems. People usually mistake these symptoms for food-related problems, instead of understanding that they might stem from heart-related issues. This is particularly alarming for people in their 30s, who have never had heartburn before, and are suddenly facing too much of it.

4/6

Pain or Discomfort in the Jaw, Neck, or Upper Back

Heart trouble doesn't necessarily produce chest pain. You may experience mild pains and tightness, which manifests in your jaw, along with your neck, shoulders and upper back region. Young active individuals tend to dismiss this discomfort because they think it stems from muscle strain, stress or poor posture.

The absence of heavy chest pressure however, does not rule out silent heart attacks, or ischemia that produce unusual pain. If this tightness or heaviness is bothering you on a daily basis, then it could spell trouble.

5/6

Shortness of Breath During Normal Activities

Heart strain becomes evident when you experience breathing difficulties while performing activities which previously required no effort, such as walking short distances or climbing stairs. People with heart conditions may experience shortness of breath that does not include chest pain, or other noticeable symptoms. The inadequate blood pumping ability of the heart, results in breathing difficulties during normal activities or light work. Take note that this shortness of breath does not occur only during exercise, but during regular home chores as well.

6/6

Lightheadedness or Dizziness

Dizziness and faintness, especially when moving quickly or exercising, could signal heart problems. This occurs because the heart is unable to deliver sufficient blood to your brain during this time. Irregular heart rhythms, or blocked arteries cause this symptom which many people may overlook.

These signs during your 30s might seem unconnected to heart disease, but it is important to get yourself checked out, especially if you have High BP, Diabetes, smoke, are obese, or have a family history of heart disease.
