Joint stiffness can alter ability to move

It's critical to focus on the health of our joints as we get older. Arthritis and stiff joints are prevalent conditions that can seriously affect our everyday lives. Early detection of the symptoms enables prompt treatment and action. We'll go through five warning symptoms of arthritis and tight joints that you shouldn't overlook.

Arthritis commonly occurs in weight-bearing parts of the body like Joints of hips, knees but sometimes it also affects fingers, thumb, neck, and large toes too. This is also called wear and tear degenerative arthritis, as it is caused by repetitive excess stress on normal joints. As per studies, every third male and every second female are affected by osteoarthritis. According to the latest studies, early symptoms of arthritis can be found in relatively young people too. Injury, excess weight, an unhealthy lifestyle, and genetic conditions are among the factors which cause the cartilage of a joint to wear away. Even though it is one of the most prevalent diseases afflicting all Indians, people perpetuate and harbor countless misconceptions relating to the condition, its causes, effects, and remedies.

According to Anjenay Agarwal, an Ayurvedic expert, "The preservation of healthy joints is essential for general well-being. Incorporating natural ingredients like Kesar, Arjun, Shuddh Shilajeet, Ashwagandha, and Musli into your routine is quite beneficial to support joint health. These ingredients, known for their anti-inflammatory properties, can provide relief and promote overall joint well-being.

Here are common signs of stiff joints and arthritis that you should not ignore

2/6

Pain & Discomfort

“Consistent pain and restricted movement are typical symptoms of joint issues. It may be a symptom of underlying problems if you have persistent joint discomfort or find it difficult to move a joint through its entire range of motion. One or more joints in the body may experience varying degrees of joint pain,” says Agarwal.

3/6

Swelling and Sensitivity

Joint problems are frequently accompanied by inflammation. An underlying issue may be indicated by swelling around the joints that are accompanied by sensitivity and warmth. Your ability to move and go about your regular activities may be hampered by inflamed, painful joints. Any swelling or irritation that lasts or worsens over time must be watched carefully.

4/6

Restricted Movement

“Joint stiffness can be characterized by difficulty moving a joint freely or a restricted range of motion. Simple actions like bending, reaching, or walking might become difficult when one is stiff. It's critical to treat the situation as soon as you become aware of a decline in your ability to accomplish tasks that were formerly simple for you, including climbing stairs or grasping things,” says Agarwal, who is also the director of Royal Bee Natural products Pvt Ltd.

5/6

Changes in Joint Appearance

Visible deformities or misalignments may appear in extreme cases of joint problems. Long-term inflammation and harm to the surrounding tissues can change the anatomy of the joint, resulting in deformities like knobby finger joints or toes that don't point in the right direction. It's critical to spot changes in joint appearance so that damage may be stopped before it becomes worse.

6/6

Morning Discomfort

Many people who have joint issues wake up stiff and sore. The presence of stiffness that lasts longer than 30 minutes in the morning or during extended periods of inactivity may indicate joint problems. Your ability to start your day or participate in morning activities might be hampered by early pain.

“Additionally, applying hot or cold packs, practicing gentle stretching exercises, and considering natural supplements can contribute to joint health. You should prioritize your joint health today for a future filled with mobility, comfort, and the ability to enjoy an active lifestyle. Remember, healthy joints are the foundation for a fulfilling and vibrant life. Also, remember hooking onto Ayurveda treats the root cause of arthritis and safeguards the body from the ill effects of antibiotics,” says Agarwal.
