Benefits of improving balance

-Working on your balance strengthens your bones and joints, especially your ankles, knees, and hips.

-As per a study, balancing improves body awareness, which is the sense of how your limbs are oriented in space. This helps to decrease your chances of getting injured.

-In balance training, your entire body should work in sync, to help improve co-ordination in everyday life.

-Balancing also helps to improve one's reaction time.

Squats

Start with strengthening your leg, calves, and thigh muscles. This can be achieved by doing squats.

How to do it: Stand on the ground with your legs wide apart. Stretch your arms in front of you, abs tight, and back straight. Now bend your knees and hips slowly to lower yourself down until your thighs are parallel to the floor. Hold this position for a second and then rise.

Single leg balance

This exercise is a little complicated than the previous one, but it is quite effective in improving your overall balance.

How to do it: Stand straight on the ground with your feet wide apart and place your hands on your hips. Lift your left leg to the side and try to balance your body weight on your right leg. Hold this position for a few seconds and then shift the leg.
