Here's how you can still complete 10,000 steps every day during lockdown

While the world is fighting the war with the novel coronavirus, all we can do to help is stay at home and practise social distancing. However, ever since the lockdown has been announced, many of us have become too lazy and barely manage to complete 10,000 steps a day, which is said to be the bare minimum that every person needs to follow. For all those who feel guilty for not getting up enough while working from home, here is some help. Here are ways you can nonchalantly incorporate these 10,000 steps into your daily life, even when you are at home.

2/6

Take a break every one hour

While work should definitely not suffer while you are working from home, make sure your back doesn't suffer too. Put alarms and take a break every one hour. While you take the break, make sure to get a certain number of steps. You can take two rounds of your house, balcony or garden, if you have one. You can also try climbing stairs, which is one of the best forms of workout.

3/6

Do it twice

If you have to do the dishes, walk back and forth twice before you get down to do the actual work. This is one of the easiest ways to count in some extra steps.

4/6

Become a kid, jump around

Do some jumping exercises, like skipping ropes or hopping. If you have little ones in your house, you can even have a mini competition with them. It is a fun way to get those extra steps and to stay active and get in shape.

5/6

Do not stand, keep walking

If you are making a cup of tea, don't stand while it boils, take a round or two of your kitchen. When you get a call, step out in the balcony and walk while you talk. Before you get down to work in the morning, take at least 100 steps.

6/6

Dance

Feeling very tired after completing the work? There is no better way to dance and unwind. Believe us and try it, 30 minutes of physical activity after the work ends can make you feel like yourself again. It is also a great way to cover the steps and reach your daily goal of 10,000 steps.
