Current generation is more careful about the way they look

Gym culture is spreading faster in the country. Youngsters, especially, are more attracted to it. Well, it is not bad to indulge in a workout. But what needs to be taken care of is the overindulgence and the mistakes one makes in the gym. Social media validation has a major role to play in this as well.

Here are a few dos and don'ts of gym workout, especially for those who are young and are beginners.

2/11

Do not compete

One of the most important things young people should understand that gym is a place to workout for your body and mind, it is not a competition.

You should not pay attention to the exercises your peers are doing and even the improvement they make. Each body is different.

3/11

Listen to your body

You can not put your body through the same exercises your friend is doing. There can be chances you won't be able to do strenuous exercise like others.

Do not feel bad about it. It is just the way each body responds to workouts. For some gyms work wonder and for some brisk walking does the thing.

4/11

Know when to stop

Stop when your body does not want you to. Do not push yourself towards a goal. Wait for a while and then you can restart.

Whenever you feel uneasy speak to your trainer about.

5/11

Hydrate

Hydration is an important part of gym rules. Do not forget to drink water. During exercises your body loses lots of water and it is important to hydrate it.

Ask your trainer about the different kinds of hydration and fruits that will help you with this.

6/11

Keep the music low

If you love listening to music while working out, make sure you do not disturb the other person.

Keep your tunes to yourself and buy good headphones for that. Always remember workout is important for everyone who is coming to the gym.

7/11

Dress properly

Gym attires are available easily. Do not forget to buy a pair for yourself. Buy more actually so that you do not end up wearing a sweaty one in case you have not cleaned it.

Wearing proper dresses are essential as they don't come in between the exercises. The right kind of clothing protects you from chaffing skin and other issues.

8/11

Clean when you leave

Once you are done with the equipment , clean it properly before leaving. Do not leave sweat marks on the seats and the handle after you use it.

This is an inappropriate behavior and also spreads germs from one person to another.

9/11

Be polite

Make the gym an inclusive environment for all. Do not engage in bullying or eve teasing or playing fun pranks inside the gym.

Give space to everyone. Be cordial to others. Do not fight with others for equipment. Wait for your turn.

10/11

Warm up before every session

Young people mostly start workouts without prepping the body.

Warm up is very essential before every workout. Doctors have also warned against direct workouts and have said this increases the risk to cardiovascular health.

11/11

Rest properly

When you work for 5 days at a stretch it is ideal to give your body a good rest. This will help the muscles to heal and grow properly.

Consult your trainer about this and get good rest.
