Mountains or beaches: The destination you plan to travel after quarantine, tells a LOT about your personality

As we stay cooped up inside our homes to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, most of us have already started making bucket-lists of the faraway lands that we will go exploring when the lockdown opens and travel restrictions are lifted up.

There is no denying that we are certainly living in difficult times as the coronavirus pandemic has completely changed the way we used to lead our lives. While there is no saying when exactly we can pack our bags and fly away to our bookmarked destinations, we can always dream of the day when our lives will resume normalcy.

2/12

Are you a mountain person or beach person?

For some, the term ‘vacation’ is synonymous with sunsets, tan lines, and riding the waves, while others find utmost peace in the stillness of mountains and embrace the solitary life and small luxuries that come with living in a hill station. However, did you know that your chosen holiday destination can actually give a sneak peek into your personality? Yes, you read that right! So, whether you are craving for a sun-kissed selfie and showing off your tan lines or a hot cuppa of 'pahad wali chai', your favourite vacation spot can shed light on your personality as well.

3/12

If you are a beach person

If you are a beach person, holidays simply mean packing your bikini, swimming trunks, sunscreens, and hitting the beach. You thrive on the infectious energy that the beach, ocean, and the sun provide and love the lively and upbeat life of the sea. You cannot get enough of the seamless expanse of blue waters and every time you visit a beach, you have a childlike glee as if you are witnessing the orange skies for the very first time.

If you love the beach:

4/12

You have a LOT of friends

You probably have a huge circle of friends and you are a pro at maintaining these friendships, no matter where you go. Your idea of a fun night definitely includes catching up with your people and you love the idea of making friends with absolute strangers.

5/12

You are spontaneous

What is even better than planned outings? Yes, it is the unplanned, spontaneous getaways that give meaning to your life. You believe in enjoying the present instead of fussing over a distant future. To put it simply, you are the life of the party that lights up the room just by his presence. You thrive on spontaneity and don’t do too well with planning and don't quite see the need for the same.

6/12

You are a storyteller

Whether you are surrounded by a group of friends or just with a bunch of people you have just met, you have the innate art of holding the steering wheel of the conversation. You are gifted with the art of storytelling and you certainly utilize it to expand your social circle and a quest for adventures.

7/12

You are an adventurous soul

If you are a beach bum, you probably thrive on the idea of waves caressing your body as you go jet skiing. Being a water baby, you are naturally inclined towards water sports as they quench your thirst for thrill and adventure.

8/12

If you are a mountain person:

If you are a mountain person, you are probably the brain behind “The mountains are calling and I must go.” quote. You see the magic hidden in the magnificent mountains and it baffles you when others don’t understand why you choose to soak in the fresh, mountain air. Your idea of getting high in life is finding a cozy cottage in the hills that faces the never ending greenery. You are nature’s baby and mountains are your ultimate calling in life.

If you are a mountain baby:

9/12

You probably have a couple of ride-or-die friends

Not a fan of getting lost in the chatter of a group, you most likely have a couple of best friends and you don’t even intend on expanding your social circle. You are the most comfortable when you are surrounded by your closest friends as it takes away the fear of getting judged or being spoken over in a crowd.

10/12

You are a planner

Even though you do set yourself free every once in a while, people rely on you to get everything in order. So, from flight bookings, sightseeing to places to stay, you are a methodological planner, and love every moment of the same. You believe that planning helps in staying on track while you are on a vacation and helps you utilise every tiny second of your getaway.

11/12

You are a listener

There is a reason why you have the most amazing set of best friends in the whole world-- you are an amazing listener. So, in a sea of people where conversations overlap each other, you are the one listening and responding. You are not in any rush to speak what is on your mind but rather love listening to what others have to say.

12/12

You enjoy the serenity of silence

Unlike the thrill of beach-parties and water sports, you enjoy the stillness of hills where every gust of wind and the swaying of trees can be felt with closed eyes. You live for the pure mountain air, the tiny local markets, and the quaint cafes hiding in forgotten lanes. You appreciate the slow life of the hills and keep returning for the same.
