If you're going to be glued to the chair for long hours, it might result in these dangerous health conditions

Dullness and health issues don't just occur during old age. If you don't take good care of your body while you are young, all the health problems can start crawling in sooner than you'd realize. There are so many things that people follow as a routine that can lead to some or the other health issue. One such thing is sitting for longer duration without taking any breaks or giving a good stretch to your body every interval. People who have a 9-5 job are the ones who usually get entangled in this routine where they unintentionally sit for a lot of hours together without giving their body any break and any movement. Unfortunately, this can result in many dangerous health conditions and we're here to list them down for you.

2/6

Obesity

This is the kind of health problem that many people suffer from predominantly. It affects adults as well as children and mainly it is due to the sedentary lifestyle. This basically means the body becomes idle because of a lack of physical activity. When a person sits at the computer for 5-6 hours at a stretch, fat sets in and forms a large mass in many parts of the body. Since the body isn't moving, no calories get burnt which results in weight gain.

3/6

Numbness

Numbness is when you start to feel less in the limbs due to sitting for too long. The body cannot react to the sense of touch and also can't feel the basic temperature. When you sit for a long period of time, it can hurt the nervous system of the body. This makes the nerves weak and eventually leads to numbness. Once it sets in, it becomes difficult to bend or curl the limbs when you wish to. This is due to poor blood flow to particular parts of your body.

4/6

Depression

If you're someone who needs to do a lot of sitting work, you need to think of how it's affecting you mentally. Researches say that when a person is sitting for too long in just one position, he starts to get lazy and overthink about really random and silly topics. Some of these can lead to depressing thoughts and the person can very much get into depression because of it. Eventually, this decreases concentration levels ultimately resulting in poor work output.

5/6

Diabetes

One of the most deadly diseases to affect your mental peace and life is diabetes. People don't understand the silent symptoms that can be the cause of diabetes but long hours of sitting can be the culprit. When you are lying down in an idle position for hours or sitting for one too many hours, the pancreas reduces the production of insulin which causes diabetes mellitus. This means, sugar accumulates in the body and causes diabetes in a person.

6/6

Heart attack

When you spend most time sitting without any movement, it can be dangerous for your heart. The metabolism rate of the person drops down drastically which reduces the blood flow speed in the body and result in discomfort. When the blood is pumped faster, the more fat that is deposited near the heart muscles gets burnt out. If you don't move for too many hours at once, fat keeps building in and around the heart muscles and eventually lead to heart attacks.
