A day for coffee lovers

It’s the 21st century, and in this day and age we find the need to dedicate a day to celebrate the most bizarre and wacky things, like International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day, or Ask a Stupid Question Day. Bonafide coffee lovers may not need a reason to drink coffee, but even so, here is a reason not just for coffee aficionados, but even for ordinary people to have a delicious cup of joe - the International Coffee Day. Among the many amusing celebratory days, this day finds a spot in the calendar, and it is not even a funny or irrelevant thing to celebrate.

International Coffee Day

The day that celebrates an explosion of caffeine falls on 1st October, and it is a festivity of sorts. This day is all about coffee, learning about the beans, educating people about the drink, and most importantly, making and drinking coffee. Be it at home, where you make the beverage yourself, or in a restaurant, where you enjoy a chilled glass of iced coffee, not much can go wrong with one of the most popular drinks in the world. So in preparation for this year’s International Coffee Day, we take a look at some delicious coffees that you can try.

3/9

Vietnamese Iced Coffee

Vietnamese Iced Coffee is made by adding intensely brewed coffee to sweetened condensed milk, to give a strong yet sweet flavour. It is a creamy, rich, and smooth coffee that is worth giving a shot on this occasion.

4/9

Turkish Coffee

Made from unfiltered Arabica coffee beans and cardamom, Turkish coffee is prepared in ibrik, a traditional pot with a long handle that is traditionally made of copper. This coffee focuses on sweetness, so be prepared to swallow a lot of calories. It is usually served with a foam on top.

5/9

Sea Salt Mocha

Sea salt mocha provides a change in taste from most sweet tasting mochas and lattes. By adding the right amount of salt to balance the sweetness, Sea Salt mocha provides a salty yet chocolaty taste that suits both, people who like their coffee sweet, and those who like it strong.

6/9

Espresso Spritzer

A glass of Espresso Spritzer provides much needed respite from the heat, thanks to a combination of cooling ingredients like soda, espresso, watermelon, and rose. This is one unique and refreshing drink to try this International Coffee Day.

7/9

Coffee Sangria

A twist to the traditional glass of red wine, chopped fruits, and brandy or orange juice, Coffee Sangria adds a punch of brewed coffee to the standard ingredients, to provide a coffee flavoured alcoholic experience.

8/9

Cinnamon Cold Brew

Cold brew is by itself a popular drink, add to that one of nature's very own flavour enhancers, and you have yourself a chilled glass of delectable coffee.

9/9

Hazelnut coffee

Last but certainly not the least, you might consider drinking the classic and ever popular Hazelnut Coffee. Hazelnut provides a chocolaty flavour to the coffee, making the coffee satiable for both chocolate and coffee lovers.
