Are your food choices secretly causing headaches?

Is your food causing a painful headache? This is certainly the last thing that crosses the mind, when in pain. This is because ‘food’ evokes a sense of pleasure and associating it with pain is difficult. But experts believe that wrong eating habits and unhealthy foods and beverages may be the secret reason for triggering awful headaches. Cheese

Yes, this will disappoint you but love for cheese may be the reason for your headache. This is because certain types of cheese are made by fermenting and aging. Aged foods convert protein in the foods to a compound called Tyramine, which triggers headache. Artisanal cheese variants like blue cheese, cheddar cheese, feat and other variants that are made by aging may lead to headaches.

Processed meats

As much as we love gorging on sausages, bacon strips, pepperoni or salamis, these delightful processed meats are laced with additives and preservatives, which contain nitrites, which releases nitric oxide into the blood, which dilate blood vessels in the brain. Yes, according to the American Migraine Foundation, people suffering from migraine often reported that drinking red wine triggered their headache, this is because of two chemicals: Tyramine or Histamine that are present in alcohol.
