One major concern with eating half-boiled eggs is the risk of salmonella infection, a type of bacteria that can cause food poisoning. If the eggs are not pasteurized or properly cooked, the bacteria may survive in the yolk, leading to symptoms like fever, diarrhea, and stomach cramps.

To reduce the risk, always use fresh, clean, and preferably pasteurized eggs. Wash the shell thoroughly before boiling, and ensure the egg white is completely cooked. Buying eggs from a reliable source and refrigerating them properly also helps maintain safety.
