Right way to make Dahi Wale Aloo

Dahi Wale Aloo is a classic main course curry. Made with boiled potatoes, whisked curd, and spices, this main course curry can be easily prepared at home. Scroll down to read the detailed recipe.

Ingredients

4 boiled potatoes, 1½ cups thick curd, 1 tbsp besan, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 pinch asafoetida, 1–2 green chillies, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp garam masala, salt to taste, 1 tbsp oil or ghee, fresh coriander leaves, and water

To begin with, whisk curd until smooth.

Add besan to curd and mix well to avoid lumps.

Now, heat oil or ghee in a kadhai and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

To this, add hing and green chillies and let them crackle too.

Add diced boiled potatoes along with turmeric, coriander powder, salt and red chilli powder.

Mix well and cook on a low flame. Add whisked curd mixture while stirring continuously.

Next, add water and bring it to a boil. Cook on a low flame for 8-12 minutes.

Add garam masala and coriander leaves on top. Serve hot with roti or rice.
