Laddoos to offer to Lord Ganesha

The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is around the corner and the festival is incomplete without the goodness of his favourite food- Laddoo. Among the many offerings, laddoos hold a special place, as they are believed to be Lord Ganesha’s favorite sweet, symbolizing joy, prosperity, and the sweetness of life. From the iconic modak laddoo to a variety of traditional recipes, devotees prepare and present them with love, seeking His blessings for happiness and success. Here are some of the varieties that you can offer him during the 10-day festival.

Modak



It is a steamed delight native to Maharashtra and is made with rice flour, stuffed with a sweet filling of coconut, jaggery and nuts. It is considered to be Lord Ganesha's favourite.

Besan Laddoo


This laddoo is made with roasted gram flour, which is mixed with ghee and sugar syrup and seasoned with cardamom powder.

Sooji Laddoo


To make this laddoo, you need roasted semolina, which is mixed with ghee, sugar, and cardamom and then shaped into this tasteful delight.

Til Laddoo


This laddoo is very popular and is made with roasted white sesame seeds which are mixed with jaggery and roasted peanuts. These laddoos symbolise warmth and energy.

Coconut Laddoo


This variety of laddoo is made with fresh or desiccated coconut and condensed milk/jaggery and also uses milk powder and cardamom powder in making.

Dry Fruit Laddoo


This variety of laddoo is considered to be very healthy and is made with dates or jaggery along with nuts and seeds bound with ghee.

Atta Laddoo


This variety of laddoo is made with whole wheat flour, ghee, nuts, and sugar or jaggery.

Ragi Laddoo


This is also considered to be very healthy and is made with finger millets mixed with ghee and dates or jaggery and are offered to the deity.
