Unhealthiest foods and how they impact the body

It is important to pay attention to what we eat, as it is the most crucial factor that decides the present and future of our body. And that's the reason nutritionists and fitness experts suggest reading the label and understanding the food that you eat. In a recent post on Instagram, Lars Meidell is a 'fitness coach for men' listed the ‘unhealthiest foods’ and warned that making them a regular part of one's diet can have serious negative impacts on one's health. From pizza to orange juice, his list of unhealthiest foods contain all those items that we often eat without paying attention to what they contain and how they can impact our body. Scroll down to read the details.

2/11

Soda

Soda`s high sugar content, acidic nature and so called empty calories all point against what is considered healthy. Every time you drink soda bad things are happening internally in your body.

3/11

Vegan cheese

According to Lars, vegan cheese is terrible. Is not even real cheese so they add fake artificial thickeners, sugars, sodium and worst of all vegetable oils. Everything against what we call a healthier option, he writes.

4/11

Chips

As per his post, chips are calorie dense, high in sodium and drenched in seed oils. They are also highly inflammatory and route to unhealthy weight gain.

5/11

French fries

He also says that French fries are equally bad. He wrote, "The same qualities as chips but with a dangerous popularity in most countries and almost considered «normal». This food is not normal."

6/11

Doughnuts

As per Lars, doughnuts are linked to insulin resistance with their incredibly high sugar content and unhealthy fats. He adds, "Imagine fried food in combination with lots of added sugar. Not good."

7/11

Energy Drinks

As per Lars, energy drinks have tons of artificial ingredients with high sugar and sodium content. Very processed yet considered «normal» to the younger youth. He warns to "stay away".

8/11

Hot dogs

He writes, "Processed meat with nitrates has proven to be cancerous, and due to its convenience and high fat taste it goes simply unnoticed too often."

9/11

Orange juice

As per Lars, orange juice is a literal sugar drink. Very similar sugar content to soda and hence it should be avoided.

10/11

White Bread

"Empty calories, spikes insulin a lot, low in fiber. This food on a consistent basis is gonna have an impact on your health," notes Lars.

11/11

Frozen Pizza

He states, "Such a processed food. Lots of refined carbs, low quality processed meat and cheese, trans fats. Worst of all goes unoticed is it`s linked to bad eating habits and routines. Combine stress and a bad diet, your health goes down the drain real fast."
