Cool coffee cravings? Try these 6 chilled brews for restaurant like experience at home

When the weather is too hot to handle and even the thought of garam chai feels wrong, cold coffee steps in like a hero. It’s cool, comforting and gives you that caffeine kick without making you sweat. And no, you don’t need any special equipment or long prep time to enjoy a good one. With just a few simple ingredients, you can easily make refreshing cold coffee at home in different ways. You can enjoy it just as much during the rainy season too, especially when you're in the mood for something chilled but flavourful. Here are six easy versions to try this season, each with its own taste and little everyday benefits.

2/7

Classic cold coffee

The classic cold coffee we all know and love. Mix instant coffee, a little warm water and sugar till it dissolves, then blend with chilled milk and ice until smooth and frothy. It turns out creamy, slightly sweet and perfectly chilled. A nostalgic sip that never fails to hit the spot.

3/7

Iced mocha twist

Mix a spoon of cocoa powder with chilled coffee, milk and a little honey or jaggery. Blend or shake with ice for a creamy, chocolatey drink. The cocoa adds a feel-good touch while the coffee keeps you going through those sleepy afternoons.

4/7

Cold brew at home

To make cold brew, add ground coffee to a jar of water and let it steep overnight in the fridge. Strain it in the morning, pour over ice, and add milk or a splash of jaggery syrup if you like. It’s smooth, bold and naturally less acidic, making every sip feel mellow and refreshing.

5/7

Homemade frappé

This thick and frosty shake-style coffee is perfect for when you want something chilled and satisfying. Blend brewed coffee with cold milk, a spoon of jaggery or a couple of soft dates, a drop of vanilla essence and plenty of ice. It turns rich and creamy without needing any cream, making it a great treat when you're in the mood for something cold and a little indulgent.

6/7

Iced black coffee

Brew strong coffee and pour it straight over ice. No milk or sugar needed, just clean and crisp flavour. Add a slice of lemon or a few mint leaves for a refreshing twist. Great when you want something light, low in calories and bold in taste.

7/7

Creamy Vietnamese-style cold coffee

Make a strong cup of coffee and mix in a spoon of condensed milk while it’s still hot. Let it cool down, then pour over ice and stir well. It turns out smooth, sweet and bold with just the right flavour. For a change, you can use jaggery syrup instead for a desi-style version.
