​Make almonds a must snack through the day

Eating right is at the core of maintaining good health. Ayurveda has always been an advocate of consuming traditional and natural food items for maintaining overall wellness and balance. One can start by opting for a natural snack like almonds. Almonds have high protein content, rich in Vitamin E and magnesium, and contain calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. According to Siddha, almond may have a therapeutic effect on debility and weakness, caused by chronic diseases including diabetes and other lifestyle conditions such as gastric irritation. Start your day with lukewarm water

There are multiple benefits of starting your day by drinking water. A glass of lukewarm water in the morning stimulates detoxification and helps in repairing skin cells and elasticity, as your body gets rid of toxins. Furthermore, it helps to keep your digestive system healthy, strengthens the immune system, and improves blood circulation. Go for seasonal fruits and vegetables

: Every season brings a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that offer health benefits. Consumption of seasonal fruits and vegetables provides the body with the right nutrition it needs. During winter have a variety of citrus fruits high in vitamin C, which will strengthen yourimmune system to fight coughs and colds. To start with the first month of the year, you can grab some fruits like oranges, chikoo, and pomegranates or vegetables like cauliflower, peas, brinjal, spinach (palak), cabbage, carrot, or radish as all of these are extremely suitable for the season. Ayurveda also promotes a daily dose of green and leafy vegetables (steamed or cooked) as they benefit your skin, hair, and help get rid of ama (toxic wastes) from your body.
