Healthy winter laddoos to try

The winter season is in its full swing and the comfort of homemade laddoos with a warm glass of milk at night is something that many of us have grown with. From gond, coconut to sesame seeds and nuts, the blend of these items keep the body warm and help with a good night sleep. These laddoos also use ginger in the form of powder, as it boosts immunity, improves digestion, and helps fight colds and sore throat. Take a look at these eight types of winter laddoos that one can try at home to keep the body warm during winter season.

Gond Laddoo

To make this seasonal laddoo, roast gond in ghee until it puffs. Let it cool down and crush well. To this, add roasted whole wheat flour, powdered jaggery or sugar, and dry fruits. Shape the mixture into mini laddoos and enjoy.

Sesame Laddoo

Roast white sesame seeds in a pan. To this, add melted jaggery, roasted peanuts, and grated ginger. Let the mixture cool down a bit and shape the mixture into laddoos.

Peanut Laddoo

For this laddoo, dry roast peanuts in a pan, remove skin and grind coarsely. Mix with powdered jaggery and a little ghee. Let the mixture cool down a bit and shape into laddoos. And if you are worried if peanuts are healthy, research published in nutrition and cardiology journals has stated that regular peanut consumption is associated with better heart health, as peanuts are rich in monounsaturated fats, plant protein, niacin, and resveratrol, which help lower bad (LDL) cholesterol.

5/9

Dry Fruit Laddoo

Chop nuts like cashews, pistachios, walnuts, and peanuts and then roast them along with ghee. To this, add slightly warm dates and figs. Combine them all and shape into laddoos.

6/9

Methi Laddoo

To make this laddoo, roast methi seeds, grind into powder. In the same pan, add ghee and wheat flour and roast until aromatic. Add the powder, chopped nuts, and jaggery. Shape into small laddoos and store in a jar.

7/9

Aata Laddoo

Heat ghee in a pan and add wheat flour, roast until aromatic. To this add powdered sugar. Combine well and let it turn lukewarm. Add roasted nuts of your choice. Shape into laddoos and enjoy.

8/9

Ragi Laddoo

To make this laddoo, first of all dry roast ragi flour until aromatic, mix with powdered jaggery, sesame seeds, and ghee. Combine well and also add chopped nuts of your choice. Shape into laddoos and store in a jar.
