The iconic restaurants of Kolkata that are popular for their food

When we talk about Kolkata the only thing that comes to everyone’s mind is Rosogulla. But, it is much more than that and people coming from across the cities will find a gastronomic experience here with a variety of foods available around the city. The ‘City of Joy’ is quite popular for the amount of culinary influence it has had in the past with Mughals and British ruling over the city for some time. Also, due to the Chinese immigrants, there is a lot of Indo-Chinese food that grew after their colonization. Located on Park Street, this restaurant is quite popular for its Chelo Kebab, which is a unique dish made with a combination of buttered rice with poached eggs and grilled kebabs and veggies). It’s a small roadside stall which is quite popular for the variety of street foods sold here. One of the unique things about this place is the Chittoda, which is that the owners have been selling for over 50 years. Indian Coffee House

This is often known as the Adda for Bengali, where one could interact with like-minded people. This restaurant is known for its historic importance and rich heritage and is based on College Street.
