Republic Day special dine-out offers

It has been rightly said that there is nothing greater than the love for food. How about having some good food this weekend? Well, this is certainly what we all like to do. Several restaurants across the country have planned a special menu and curated regional cuisine along with a spectacular buffet consisting of unique dishes that you can enjoy while dining out with family and friends. We have listed five such places for you.

Diya, The Leela Ambience Gurugram

Presenting a very unique concept, The Leela Ambience Gurugram has started an initiative titled Gharana, wherein expert Home Chefs will take centre stage to present their signature recipes which have been passed down through generations and perfected over time. This month, renowned Home Chef Shaista Iqbal presents her signature recipes from the bygone era of Dilli 6. Her menu includes forgotten recipes like Shabdegh, Subz–e–Pukhtan, Baigan Ki Buhani along with her mastered delicacies like Gosht ke Bhune Pasande, Yakhni Dum Biryani, Dum ki Maachli, Murgh Ishtu, Nalli Nehari and more.

Dhaba, The Claridges Delhi

If you are in a mood to relish some winter delicacies, head to Dhaba at The Claridges Hotels and Resorts which is hosting extended Lohri celebrations. Some of the matchless authentic Punjabi delicacies are being recreated in their authentic flavours by the visiting Chef Tikka Manpreet Singh who specialises in Punjabi food from different regions like Manjha, Malwa and Doaba. The versatility of his culinary style ranges from Punjab region in Pakistan to Punjab in India. Chef Tikka Manpreet Singh has enhanced his culinary expertise in various Royal kitchens of the region and is presenting a specially curated festival food. Some of the dishes that you must try here are: Kalonji Pudiney Wali Tandoori Macchi, Peethi Wali Lal Mirch Di Macchi, Hare Masale ka Jheenga or exotic Sarson Walley Tandoori Jheenge for the non-vegetarians while the vegetarian options include Chakunder di Bharwan Tikki, Fukkan Walla Sirka Paneer, Bharwein Chaandi da Khumb and Khumaani di Seekh among others.

Seven Kitchens, St. Regis Mumbai

To celebrate Republic Day, Chef Paul Kinny, Director of Culinary, The St. Regis Mumbai has curated a buffet with dishes from across the country that includes multi-regional spread, From Awadh and Maratha to even South India, the property offers delicacies like Koh-E-Awadh, Hirvya Masalayachi Mutton, Thalassery Prawn Biryani, Local Seafood Grills and Pandi Curry that the guests can enjoy while dining out on Republic Day.

Novotel New Delhi Aerocity

If you have not yet tasted Kashmiri Pandit Cuisine, you must visit Novotel New Delhi Aerocity. The gastronomic journey of this historical cuisine will be showcased by the visiting Chef Rajni Jhinsi. This ancient cuisine is a blend of many cultures but with a compelling identity of its own. Kashmir Pandits are one of the few communities in India who are non-vegetarians and abstain from garlic, onion, tomatoes, and egg. However, mutton and fish take the lead on the table as it appears in some form at every meal. Further, the very famous Haak, which is every Kashmiri’s favourite, will be served at the festival whose preparation resembles a lot to spinach. The dishes are prepared with aromatic spices, a whiff of mustard oil and Kashmiri chillies. With the 10 days culinary voyage, savour the real flavours of Kashmiri cuisine with an essence of the cooking techniques used by Kashmiri pandits.

Cafe Swiss, SwissĂ´tel Kolkata

The culinary team at Swissôtel Kolkata is all set to host a Bengali Food Festival called “Amar Bangla” at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Café Swiss starting from 24th January to 2nd February. Their chefs will showcase the beautiful cuisine brimming with a myriad of spices and fabled ingredients. Guests will be treated to tantalizing flavours from across the region of Bengal, showcased in iconic vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. From Mochar Chop, a traditional Bengali snack also known as Banana Blossom cutlet to Chenar Mohima, a signature Bengali dish in smooth milky gravy. There also will be Kochupata Chingri which are Prawns cooked with taro leaves and mustard paste. Paturi, Kosha Mangsho are other notable authentic dishes that will satiate the taste buds. Some of the other delicacies that you can enjoy are Makha Sandesh, Nolen Gur Ice Cream and Pati Sapta.
