Fashion was back in its full glory post pandemic at Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2021. Here are the trends and controversies that created buzz during this season.

2/6

Tribute to Alber Elbaz

Designer Alber Elbaz, who died of Covid-19 in April this year was remembered during the Paris Fashion Week with 45 designers and Elbaz's design team at AZ factory paid a beautiful tribute to the designer.

Low-rise micro mini skirts

Miu Miu brought back the trend of low-rise mini skirts with models sauntering on the runway wearing crewneck sweater cut just below the breasts and micro-mini khaki skirts.

4/6

Protesters at LV

Despite the slick show, not all went according to plan for Louis Vuitton. At one point, Extinction Rebellion climate activists managed to get on a stretch of the runway — in a protest against the global fashion industry's impact on the environment. A protester held a banner featuring the words “Overconsumption=Extinction,” walking down the runway, before being taken away by show security.

5/6

Givenchy's noose necklace

Givenchy faced backlash after it made its models walk the ramp wearing neckpieces that resemble a noose. Last year Burberry was also criticized for doing something similar on the runway. The brands received flak for glorifying suicide.

6/6

The return of the supermodel

Naomi Campbell, 51 stormed the ramp for Balmain and Lanvin at Paris Fashion Week. She looked stunning in both outfits and showed us why she is the ultimate queen of the ramp.
