​Design students showcase creativity and style on Day 1 of Indore Times Fashion Week 2022

Indore Times Fashion Week 2022 kickstarted in style on Thursday in the beautiful city of Madhya Pradesh. After the successful culmination of Bombay Times Fashion Week 2022, the glamour has now shifted to the city of lakes.

With its intention to bring the best clothing and designs to one place, ITFW is trying to create a win-win situation for all stakeholders including fashion-lovers. And its Day 1 turned out to be one exciting affair with interesting designs coming to forth, thanks to the talented design students of INIFD, Indore - the city's leading design school that showcased the talent of its students on the very first day of the fashion extravaganza. Here's a look at the highlights of Day 1 of the fashion showcase.

​Punarnava: Revival of Bagh Print and Sun

The first show of the week, showcased the revival of Bagh print with a contemporary round of clothes depicting revival of the heritage craft of Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with an NGO.

What followed was the next Ashtamurti presentation - Sun, a showcase dedicated to all Indian wear clothing in the hues of the Sun - ombré, red, orange and yellow.

​Earth and Sky

The next Ashtamurti presentation was Earth - a round of semi - occasional wear and evening wear with sequins and embroidery around color green as the key element, represent the earth through greenery and leaf appliqués and combinations of techniques like macramé and weaving all done manually by hand, by students of INIFD.

Sky theme had all monochrome garments in blue, the collection was of ready to wear clothing with layers and focusing on relaxed and wearable clothing.

​Soul and Moon

The next showcase by the design school was Soul, being a mysterious and supernatural element to us, the round was dedicated to white gowns with a larger than life element to them and some Avant Garde appeal.

Moon was presented through digital prints and textures of the moon and its surface. The collection also had a lot of silver embellishments and embroidery, representing the shining moon in the night, sky against black surface, a round of evening wear and semi occasional clothing again.

​Water, Wind and Fire

The last offering of Day 1 began with Water - a round of clothes which had tie and dye effect and hues blues and textured clothing created all by hand, considering the look and nature of water.

Wind followed next and featured gowns and dresses in muted colour palette and clothes featuring extensions symbolising birds and the wind's movement. The fabrics were lightweight.

Fire round was entirely dedicated to Indowestern clothing, made in customised digitally printed clothes with a combination of black and red as the colors of fire.
