Celebs shine on the ramp for Megha & Jigar, RAR Studio and Shazzle

The third segment on Day 1 of Bombay Times Fashion Week 2018 was presented by Mumbai's leading fashion house, FUEL. Sushi and Falguni Jhaveri of FUEL have always promoted young and emerging designers at their stores. This time the duo created a platform at BTFW with designers Megha & Jigar, Rar Studio and Shazzle for the new collection.

The 'Sheesh Mahal' collection

The 'Sheesh Mahal' collection by Rar Studio is an inspiration of Mughal murals, floral bouquets, Arabesque and the Mughal pattern from Sheesh Mahal. The ethnic ensembles featured elegant drapes in ice-kissed colours. The highlight of the collection was the fine craftsmanship in rich handloom weaves.

Rhea's anarkali act

Speaking about the show, Ritesh Aniket Rishav of RAR said, "It is our debut at BTFW and we as a team are truly excited. We are known for our love for chanderi and this is what ruled our collection." Showstopper, actress Rhea Chakraborty was seen in a charcoal double layer anarkali, which the designer said is close to their heart.
4/10

Wow moment

The stunning collection was led by earthy tones, starting from white and then going to yellow, green fuschia and finally leading to black. The collection displayed their signature anarkali, kurti, sarees and a few pieces with a fusion of traditional cuts and modern aesthetics.
5/10

The 'Serafina' collection

The 'Serafina' collection by Shazzle was feminine, yet bold. The designer said, "Serafina is about an order of angels, described by Isaiah in the Bible as having six wings each. Out of the six only two were used for flying two are used to cover the face and two to cover the feet. Their position is flying above Gods throne and primary duty is to constantly glorify and praise God. It depicts a girl who likes to be desired and admired, craves attention and wishes to charm and impress those around her. She tends to be high handed and often brittle, haughty and proud. Extremely confident, she usually has grandiose ambitions." The showstopper of the show was Krystle D'Souza.
6/10

Soft and bold at the same time

The palette used by the designer was shades of navy, rose pink, oxblood and nudes. Sequins, stones and crystal embroidery were used to give a delicate feel to the collection. Thigh high slit were used to depict the attention seeking quality. Ruffles were used to depict wings of the angels. The mood of the collection was soft and feminine, yet ambitious, bold, strong and confident.

What a display

The designer shared, "I am a big fan of gowns so it is very natural for me to display gowns. I feel women should feel confident in whatever they wear and my gowns are there to break that ice and let every woman shine with her eternal confidence."
8/10

Shining like a Krystle

Actress Krystle D'Souza walked the ramp for the designer.
9/10

The 'Sapphire' collection

The 'Sapphire' collection by Megha & Jigar was inspired by different cultures around the world. The colour palette of the collection varied from deep nudes, gold to blues and wines.

The magic of deep hues
