Family, friends by Gudda's side
It’s been three days since Gudda’s heart attack, and the buzz hasn’t stopped. Everyone wants to know what his next health report will be, praying for him to be back on his feet soon.
The doctors speak in the affirmative. Gudda’s showing good signs of recovery confirm doctors on day three of his stay in the hospital. “Though he’s still in the ICU, he’s improving and the condition is stable,” said Dr Praveen Chandra, chairman of interventional cardiology at Medanta Medicity.
He added, “Rohit’s been given important medication that’s helping us control his heartbeats and pulse rate.

His BP is also normal. But he’s still being kept on a soft diet.”
Going by the improvement that Gudda has shown till now, Dr Chandra says, “He might be relieved from the hospital in five to seven days time.”
But he insists, “Rohit’s lifestyle has a big role to play in his suffering this heart attack. The kind of stress he takes, his habit of smoking, drinking, eating stuff that’s rich in cholesterol, lack of exercise – all this is bound to show up in this form. For that matter, anybody with such a lifestyle is prone to suffer a heart problem sooner or later.”
Agrees model Amanpreet Wahi, a close friend of Gudda. “I’m so shaken by this news. It has scared all of us as we have the same lifestyles. But while there’s time for us to mend it, Rohit has an erratic work and party life. Late night parties, drinking and smoking definitely takes a toll. Though there’s no denying Gudda is the jaan of every party. He’s such a livewire and an absolutely fabulous guy.”

Adding, she says, “Perhaps the fact holds true in our industry, the higher you rise, the lonelier you get - coz there are thousands who’re jealous of you, want to pull you down and more. That’s another mental stress that we in the fashion industry have to bear.”
Among Rohit’s more well-wishers and friends is the designer duo Ashima and Leena, who paid a visit to their dear friend Rohit in the hospital today. Sounding relieved, Leena Singh said, “The worst is over. And I’m so happy to get such positive reports from the doctor. We stayed there for about half an hour and were happy to see his family smiling, who looked visibly relieved about Gudda’s improving health. Among his family members there was Aruna, his sister, brother Billa, sister-in-law Anila and two nieces. Since we didn’t think it right to disturb Gudda, we just saw him from outside and wrote a prayer for him in the visitors’ notebook.”
Sumeet Nair was among the other friends who visited Rohit Bal in the hospital today.
