Asif & Sajeda dress you up for New Years!

When it comes to couture party wear, Asif Merchant and Sajeda Virji know how to dress you right, whether it is purely Indian or outright European chic. Natasha Suri and Aryan Vaid dropped in at their Bandra store the other day to check out what they could wear for their New Year’s Eve party.
The bubbly Natasha couldn’t decide between the gowns and the short dresses. First, she tried on a gun metal sequinned short dress.Up next was a short purple silk dress with beaded flowers appliquéd on it, teamed with a red woven velvet jacket. Then came the gowns — a glorious fuchsia pink burnt sienna and red georgette gown with sequins and swarovski work on velvet under the bust and lastly, a mauve and blue French georgette layered gown embellished with crystals and pearls.
Aryan’s wife Alexandra Copley was also present to choose the right outfit for her husband for New Year’s Eve. Aryan also tried on a number of garments — a black and white Jodhpuri velvet jacket with maroon crush pants, a purple embroidered velvet jacket with black trousers and a gun metal sequence jacket with a black satin shirt and trousers. He personally liked the gun metal suit (which he termed ‘The Shiny Disco Jacket’) and said that it is apt for the New Year party!
