Sreeleela brings back India’s lost textile in a show-stopping Torani saree with a contemporary twist

We live in an era where fashion constantly chases something new. Some designers and their muses still manage to step back in time and bring a piece of history. Tollywood actress Sreeleela is one of them, who captured our attention in a stunning floral Torani sari, which was not just visually arresting but also a quiet ode to one of India's ‘lost’ or ‘forgotten’ textiles. Stepping away from glittery embellishments, Sreeleela chose a lighter route, wearing Torani’s Coromandel Pravya saree. It featured an ivory base with a georgette cut and iconic floral chintz-inspired prints dipped in reds, blues, and softer earthy tones. It also carried larger-than-life botanical motifs alongside the border with small florals scattered all across the main body. The layered border seemed busy but not chaotic, featuring another multicoloured stripe detailing sitting elegantly with the floral band, while a dotted panel went along a scalloped edge, which looked aesthetically vintage.
