Kokilaben Ambani at 90 makes a rare yet stylish appearance at Sabyasachi’s 25th anniversary gala

Sabyasachi’s exclusive 25th anniversary gala and runway show in Mumbai on January 25th drew a star-studded crowd, with Bollywood A-listers and prominent figures from the worlds of fashion and business coming together to celebrate the Royal Bengal Tiger of fashion, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The evening saw Deepika Padukone opening and closing the show, with Sonam Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, Bipasha Basu, Ananya Panday, and many others gracing the event. The magic of Sabyasachi’s artistry brought everyone together in a celebration of style and creativity.

In a delightful surprise, the 90-year-old matriarch of the Ambani family, Kokilaben Ambani, also attended the occasion and effortlessly stole the spotlight. The mother of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, Kokilaben was accompanied by her daughter Deepti Salgaocar, and looked absolutely stunning in a graceful saree. Her presence was a testament to the fact that age knows no bounds when it comes to fashion, with the timeless elegance of the six yards of Indian drape instantly elevating her aura.

A true saree enthusiast, Kokilaben opted for a stunning butter-yellow saree adorned with intricate silver sequin floral embroidery over the main bodice and borders and looked refined and tasteful. Gracefully allowing the fall of the saree pleats in the front, she neatly pinned the pallu over her shoulder and added a subtle same-shade blouse. Kokilaben also layered the look with a black iconic knee-length cardigan with statement white buttons.

When it comes to Ambanis, their high-style jewellery pieces need to be the highlight of the hour. Kokilaben opted for a diamond-studded multi-layered necklace featuring a striking pendant and teamed it with matching stud earrings and a statement necklace. Completing the whole look with a sparkling silver handbag, she made a middle-parted ponytail with a red bindi and natural makeup tune, proving that age is just a number for her.
