Kajol’s silk kurta set puts Marodi embroidery back in the spotlight - Know exactly where it belongs
Some actresses in Bollywood are here to rule forever, and the evergreen Kajol tops the list. Completing more than 30 years in the entertainment fraternity, she’s the epitome of modern-day fashion for all the 90s peeps, and we adore her for moulding herself with time.
But this doesn’t mean the diva has forgotten all about her personal style. With time, she has evolved in the fashion scene and has time and again injected a little bit of something that is truly hers. And this recent traditional set is just another example of how far she has come.
She decked up a Marodi-embroidered ethnic piece from Lajjoo C, featuring a statement neckline with billowy sleeves, which became the primary points of attention. The flowy kurta, crafted in fine silk, was cut in a straight, relaxed silhouette with a paan motif in the centre. Decorated with Marodi floral embroidery along the neckline, the sleeves also featured the same detail.
The sleeves carried smaller Marodi motifs and finished with statement embroidered organza along the hemline, which gave a clear finish around the edges. Kajol teamed this look with wide-legged silk pants, which also featured the same floral embroidery along the hemline. Although we saw repeated detailing in different placements, honestly, it was all worth it, and we loved how beautifully it sat and managed the whole look.
Allowing her ensemble to take centre stage, she kept accessories subtle, wearing only a pair of gold earrings from Fizzy Goblet and a statement mule, which complemented the whole ivory palette and made everything look beautiful and charming.
With hair worn on one side, she flaunted her natural texture and opted for an even and luminous base with softly defined eyebrows, neutral eyes with kohl strokes, long lashes, and a hint of muted rose lips.
The whole neutral but gleaming palette is perfect for celebratory occasions and can also be worn to red carpet events. As we’re stepping into 2026 and will gradually celebrate festivities and witness the second set of wedding seasons, this beautiful co-ord set should surely be in your dressing vanity; if not, it would be a real shame indeed.
