Nearly five centuries ago, when some temples in Ayodhya faced destruction at the hands of Mughal invaders, men from the Suryavanshi Kshatriya community, called the ancestors of Raghuvanshi dynasty were believed to have undertaken a vow not to wear turbans and footwear until Lord Ram's home was restored.
