We all have grown up listening to the tales of victory of good over evil. The epic Ramayana written by sage Valmiki is a classic example every Indian can relate to. Apart from stating that good triumphs over evil, Ramayana also teaches us valuable life lessons which hold true even today. Be it Batman versus Joker or Ram versus Ravan, the concept prevails in literature as well. We list out six famous book series which restore our faith of good winning over evil:

Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling

One of the most of popular series of Harry Potter talks about good triumphs over evil. The book is about a young boy Harry who survived against odds and is declared to be a wizard. His adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and his fight against the Dark wizard Voldemort talk about the same subject. The seven part series also talks about the value of friendship and loyalty which is shown between the three main characters-- Harry, Ron and Hermione.

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

C.S Lewis is said to be one of the best fantasy writers of all time. With The Chronicles of Narnia being one of his best works, the series is a perfect example of good winning over evil. The plot is set in the magical world of Narnia which comprises of talking animals and terrifying monsters. The story is about four Pevensie siblings who are transported to Narnia as the god-like lion, Aslan, needs to protect the magical land from evils.

The Lord of The Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is an epic high fantasy. It is said to be the third best-selling novel with more than 150 million copies being sold. It was written in various stages between 1937 to 1949, much of it being developed during the World War II.

The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

One of the best-selling books, The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer held the readers spellbound with vampire stories. The four-part series is about Isabella Swan and the mysterious Edward Cullen, who is a vampire. Isabella falls for Edaward and their daring human-vampire relationship threatens everyone close to them. In the third book, Isabella is forced to choose between Edward and her friendship with Jacob. Her decision ignites the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf, thus the good and the evil.

A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin

The popular TV series Game of Thrones is based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire. The story is about the events that occur in the fictional houses of the Seven Kingdoms, each one fighting to reign on the Iron Throne at Westeros. From dragons, magic, to dead people coming back to life-- this series has numerous fantasy elements to it. Though the storyline was inspired by real events like the War of the Roses according to George R.R. Martin, but the underlying theme of the series remains that of the good versus evil.

Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini

Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini is set up in the magical land of Alagaesia. This book series focuses on the adventures of a teenage boy Eragon and his dragon Saphira. Together they fight the 'mad king' Galbatorix while the fate of Alagaesia lies in this battle between light and darkness. It's noted that the first book titled ‘Eragon’ was released when the author was only 16-years-old.
