This year was all about technology, if we're to go by words that defined the year.

With the greater use of smartphones and internet, here's the list of words that have made the cut when it comes to defining 2014.

Ebola: The deadly virus made news as the most-feared disease this year, with many cases being reported in Africa, followed by some outside the continent. This also led to several celebrities fighting to eradicate the cause, with charity songs and other productions taking centrestage.

MoM: The Mangalyaan mission — called Mars Orbiter Mission, or MoM in short — was one of the biggest successes of 2014, with the world cheering India on for getting on to the Mars' orbit in their maiden attempt itself. Many memes, tweets and cartoons ensured that it was in the news for a while.
