JLF: Bina Ramani's session cancelled

Bina Ramani, who was to launch her memoir and speak on the derailing of justice and life as a witness, at the Jaipur Lit Fest on Sunday, had to cancel her session at the last minute because of a sudden court order.
Says Bina, “Out of the blue, I got a call saying I had a court order coming. The man said he was the officer who was part of the Jessica Lall murder investigation and that today, he is the head of the crime branch.And the hearing is at the same time as my session at the fest. The court order is to enquire why, when I married George (Mailhot, her husband) which is ages ago, I ticked the ‘Indian national’ box instead of the ‘foreign national’ one.”
